Rollright Stones

I finally made it to the Rollright Stones this year (2007). I had returned to the Thames Valley to visit friends and show Gareth some of my old haunts. It was definately worth the trip, although I did find it difficult to find. There was a small sign that someone was parked in front of the first time we went passed.

The site is split into 3 areas, there is the main stone circle, which is almost complete. The Whispering Knights in the same field but about 200 yards away, a group of stones that were once a carin, and the King Stone across the road which is a single large standing stone. This is a well maintained site, whose upkeep is looked after by a charity, there is a suggested 50 pence entrance fee.
