The Leech Wells in Totnes are found at the top of the Narrows down a lane by the Kingsbridge Inn.

There are three springs which flow into three granite troughs, these were used histroically by lepers and a leper hospital was built nearby. If you've never been to Totnes it's very similar in feel to Glastonbury and has a large pagan community. These wells are still used today for healing and prayer.

Each of the three springs has a name that corresponds to its healing properties. The spring on the left is called Snake, and it is supposed to cure snakebites. The center spring is called Toad and it helps with skin diseases. The right hand spring is called Long Cripplers and it is used for eye diseases.

This well has fond memories for me as a teenager and in my twenties I spent a fair amount of time in Totnes, and I remember taking the waters for a skin complaint.
