This is a very strange place, and one we shouldn't have been as it's private property. We didn't cause any damage though and it was a well I wanted to see.
The well is situated in a small wood on the south side of the lane that leads from the B3181 to Lower Comberoy Farm, about ¼ mile from the B road. A wire frame had been placed across the entrance, presumably to prevent animals falling in the water.
Not much is known about this Well but it was presumably built when Killerton House was and is on their grounds. It is a very forboding place and I got the distinct impression that the Well was
not happy. I left it a crystal and hope that it gets the love and care it obviously deserves. |
